Responsibilities:
Energy Modeling:
Using advanced energy modeling software to analyze and optimize energy usage in buildings, with a focus on identifying opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.MEP Systems Commissioning:
Executing comprehensive commissioning activities related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. This involves ensuring the functionality, safety, and compliance of these systems.Project Coordination:
Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate commissioning activities and resolve technical issues efficiently.Documentation:
Preparing detailed commissioning reports that include test procedures, equipment performance, and system deficiencies. Providing clear recommendations for improvement.Client Communication:
Building strong relationships with clients and offering technical expertise and guidance throughout the commissioning process.Quality Assurance:
Maintaining a commitment to quality control and quality assurance, ensuring that projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
Implementing energy-efficient strategies and sustainable practices in HVAC design to reduce the environmental impact of buildings.Developing Scope of Work:
Creating and managing the scope of work for energy efficiency projects, which includes bid management and implementation.Energy Efficiency Training:
Providing training to client personnel or staff on energy efficiency practices and strategies.Troubleshooting:
Assisting clients in troubleshooting system operational issues that impact energy efficiency.Analyzing HVAC Systems:
Experience in analyzing the operation of HVAC systems and controls to identify and implement no-cost and low-cost actions that increase energy efficiency.Energy Audits:
Experience conducting ASHRAE Level 1, 2, and 3 energy audits. The estimated starting base salary for this role is $70,000-$120,000. At Galloway our salary range is based on several factors including skills, location, education, credentialing, and experience. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering or a related field.Minimum of four years of energy focused experience or 10 years in commissioning focused role.Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.Client-facing role, with the ability to establish relationships with clients and lead technical discussions.Additional Qualifications (Candidate must possess at least two of the three qualifications listed below):
1. Proven experience in commissioning HVAC systems and MEP systems in commercial or industrial settings with commissioning certification(s) such as CCP, BECxP, CxA+BE, etc.2. Understanding of building MEP systems, their operational characteristics, and potential upgrades to improve building energy performance. The ability to meet with building owners to understand their existing systems and generate ideas for energy-improving features (envelope, lighting, mechanical).3. Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, IES VE, eQUEST, Revit) with the Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) certification or equivalent.This position involves managing the technical scope and budget for project tasks, facilitating deliverable development, and may require travel to client sites. Ideal experience includes energy audits, energy modeling, life-cycle cost analysis, building/infrastructure assessment, utility meter analysis, and familiarity with building MEP and integrated control systems.Benefits100% company-paid
